My friends!

Firstly, I was very proud to have my dear friend Yaganeh Atri visiting me in Melbourne! She was coming for the Arts Festival... But I suppose she went shopping most of the time! Smiles

I know Yeganeh since Adelaide... She was doing her Master's in Architecture ... Now she is a famous Iranian architect in Sydney...

Hey, Oscar Niemeyer and Ruy Ohtake, take care... Your incredible creations are under risk...! You have a great competitor!

Hey, these friends are brand new! :-)

Aurel: the Romenian philosopher!

Naoko: Japanese, any doubts? :-)

Silke: The new re$$$earcher at Unimelb...! Not a student, a profe$$ional! Ah, I forgot... She is German!

Here Aurel is explaining how he escaped from the Soviets when he was leaving Romenia (sorry, Aurel, I could not resist... The photo is very nice!)

Naoko is entertaining herself with SMS... These Japanese girls love mobiles! :-)

Silke is thinking about her beloved back in Germany... Please, visit her soon! :-)

We went to have dinner yesterday (29 Oct) in a Thai Restaurant... Yoshi also joined us! Yoshi is also Japanese!

We had very YUMMY food!

Red Wine from Yalumba, a very traditional winery place near Adelaide!!

Yoshi suffered with the Spicy food... hehehe

"Some Ice cream... Thanx God! My tongue was melting!"

Yeah, I am definitely enjoying my time here!

Cheers, mate!

The Graduate House!

The Graduate House is the University Residency (or, as they prefer to say in Australia, a College) for Postgraduate students... It has a Victorian-style building and a brand new hotel-like building...

The reception is very modern! :-)

This is the common area... Where students get together!

This is my room! :-)

And my working desk! :-)

The city of Melbourne

Similarly to the University, the city has skycrapers and very old buildings...!

This photo was taken from the entrance of my university residency... The Graduate House! See the next Posting for more details!

I must say, Melbourne at night is breathtaking... Its European cafes, architecture, friendly environment... Very impressive!

In the background you can see the main train station... !

The Queen Victoria market is where Melbournians go to buy fruits / vegetables ... Tourists prefer to buy souvenirs...!

Some Aboriginal souvenirs!

The University of Melbourne

Hello people!

I found very impressive the contrast of brand new buldings and the very old architecture of the University! It is like moving from the 19th century to the 21st century! In reality, the University of Melbourne has more than 150 years!

Very modern architecture! :-)

And historical halls...

Very English-style buildings!

Students enjoy the park fields... !

How many Nobel prizes crossed these arcades?

Hey, this is my lab! I will be having lots of fun - and hard work - in the next three years!

Ola gente!

After a long trip, I am in Australia!

I must say it is a big pleasure
to be back after 4 years!
I couldn't imagine
to touch again this loved place...!

Before coming here, I visited some cities in the US...

Firstly, Atlanta... There I visited my dear friends Aaron and Roni...

After driving them nuts with my "Atlanta Shopping Experience" (smiles),
I traveled to Los Angeles...

I had to visit Hollywood, because as my Brazilian friends say "Baiano nao nasce, estreia!" (sorry guys, this sentence is not translatable!) ... It was a good time to see the other stars around... However, I could not find my friend Bond (James Bond)!

Hey, Elvis is alive! :-)

And Marylin Monroe is having fun with him! This world is crazy!

(Hey Jimmie, Elvis looks like you!)

What is that:

a) An airplane?

b) An elephant?

c) An overweight Super-man?

d) All the above

Yes, after a long long trip, I made it!

My smile shows my pleasure in being back!
(Ops, wrong photo!)

Yes, my smile shows my satisfaction!

The guys at the airport were afraid I was bringing too much acaraje & dende oil with me... ! I had to convince them I was only bringing the necessary... ! :-)

Hey, guys, I will start posting more in a near future! Now it is time to study! :-)
