2006 in Sydney!

I went to Sydney for New Year's Eve! Sebastian also joined me in the trip to Sydney!

As a good negotiator (well done Seb!), Seb arranged accommodation with one of his friends!

We had to catch a ferry to go to the apartment!

The apartament was very well located!

This was the window view... Very impressive, isn't it?

Sydney is amazing! Every time I go there, I enjoy it more!

Good places to shop! By the way, I found the name of this shop very interesting... It is located near the Queen Victoria Mall... It sells very expensive jewelry!

The name is BUNDA! (In Portuguese, BUNDA means BUTT!)

Is it a coincidence or the owner understands the meaning? :-)

Sydney at night is also a MUST!

Good restaurants! We ate Paella at this Spanish Restaurant! :-)

Paella & Sangria! :-)

We also visited Seb's relatives in Sydney! As always, very friendly and welcoming!

I met them few years ago, when my mum, Seb and I were going to the Olympics - Sydney 2000!

Hey, Joshua and Seb are playing together!

I also met friends in Sydney!

Yeganeh and her relatives invited us for an Iranian night! She just moved to her new place ... Very welcoming!

It was my first experience with Iranian food! Very, very yummy! :-)

Hey, Yeganeh, I believe your sister's idea of opening a restaurant is a good one! :-)

Finally, the NYE's eve! We stayed near our apartment, as we could have a good view!

Every year they use this occasion as a way of "sharing a message" .

The heart in the Bridge reminds us of people that died in the Tsunami.

Christmas time!

Two friends came to visit me during Christmas!

David, middle: Scotish, mate! :-) Very close friend from CTIN, the research center where I did my Master's degree!

Sebastian, left: the most popular Adelaidean! Good musician and, during free time, civil engineer!

Hey, this photo is unique! David pretends to be shorter than us!

Hey, Frederic made a surprise for me and Naoko!

I just woke up and received my Christmas present!

Merci beaucoup, mon ami! :-)

On Sunday 25th, we had a nice lunch at home! Different food specialities... Naoko prepared Sushi! Frederic made Lasagna and I cooked Salmon!

Naoko shows her skills in preparing Sushi!

David helps me in cooking the Salmon! :-)

Fred checks if the food is really yummy!

C'est très délicieux! :-)

BTW, for a complete Christmas' photo portfolio, I recommend you visiting the website:

The site was designed by Tom Young, a good New Zealander friend! :-) He is a Linux Guru and an excellent photographer (as you will see)!

Enjoy! :-)

Conference in the Grampians!

In December I went to the Annual Adelaide Uni - Melbourne Uni conference in the Grampians!

The Grampians are a very nice mountain region located three hours from Melbourne!

Yes, yes, I do like Melbourne! But Adelaide is in my heart! :-)

The views are breathtaking ! If you come to Melbourne, do not miss the chance of visiting the Grampians!

We went through some walks during the conference breaks! Unforgettable!

Everybody looks exhausted! Yes, we are! After a long walk, we arrived at the top of the mountain!

Maya (left), Darryl with sun glasses (my supervisor) and Jennifer (right) are shown!

This photo was taken by Justin Viiret, from Adelaide Uni!

Justin is shown in this one!

Not necessary to say this is a beautiful view, isn't it?

Not only the mountains were incredible, but also the wildlife! We could see kangaroos and other animals ... Very nice!

At night, we had a conference dinner...!

Maya, Ana and Jen are very happy after the wine!

This photo and the photo below were taken by Justin!

Hey, Darryl, come down! I need assistance in some reseach stuff! :-)

Home Sweet Home!

In December I moved with two other friends to a house in Carlton, a suburb near the University (7 minute-walk!)! It is very spacious (3 bedrooms!) and it is located few minutes from Lygon Street - lots of Cafes, Italian restaurants, etc!

This is the kitchen! :-) A very welcoming part of the house, as we are always cooking and receiving friends!

This is my room! That time it was still a mass, as I was organising my things! :-)

Now we are connected with Wireless Internet ! So, if I am not in the Uni, I will be working there!

This photo shows the current team! :-)

Frederic, a Swiss-Dutch-Swedish-Latino friend! :-) He is a Physicist and he is doing research in applied maths! He is staying until March 2006!

Naoko: She is doing her Posgraduate degree in Education! You probably remember her from other postings!!! She is Japanese!

Daniela is Brazilian! She used to work for Embraer (!!) and now she is doing a Post graduate degree in Computer Science! Daniela is enjoying her time in Brazil now (lucky, lucky!!!!) and she is coming back in March, when Frederic leaves!

Our first "get-together" party happened in December! It was very good to see our friends around... :-) It was also a farewell party to Daniela, as she was leaving to Brazil!
